A new approach to business legal services.

For the last 22 years, I have represented businesses, professionals, and entrepreneurs in breach of contract and other business disputes. Often they faced a legal crisis: multi-million dollar cases with intricate issues and emergency cases in which fast action was essential.

experience gained while handling these (estimated) 400 cases, including more than 25 trials or evidentiary hearings, 35 arbitrations, and numerous other negotiations and settlements, most of which occurred while I was a partner at a large Chicago law firm, cost an estimated $6.25 million. But it gave me a corpus of knowledge--how to efficiently prepare and win trials in business cases--that is unique.

Why start my own firm? With new computer software, we can offer this knowledge in a firm that is the size of a boutique.

Harry Beckwith wrote in a best-selling book that a lawyer's clients "cannot evaluate expertise," so they look at "irrelevant details." This web site was written to combat that idea. For the novice and the experienced client alike, it explains our fields of experience, interesting case studies, and the principles we apply when representing our clients. As an aid to those who are trying to choose a lawyer, we also confess the types of assignments that we decline.
