Sales of Goods

The sales laws of each state primarily govern transactions for the sale of goods. Illinois has adopted Article Two of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) as the main body of law regulating transactions in goods.

Article Two regulates every phase of a transaction for the sale of goods and provides remedies for problems that arise. It provides for implied warranties of merchantability and fitness and includes a duty of good faith. If a contract contains unconscionable provisions, a court may discard the contract or the provisions. Breach of contract disputes of all types have been litigated by our lawyers.

We have experience with:

  • breach of implied warranties
  • breach of duty of good faith
  • unconscionable contract provisions
