Joseph Barber

Joseph Barber graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College Of Law in 2008, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2002. Prior to law school, Joe served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana teaching math and science in a village high school and worked extensively with government education officers to implement a new literacy program.

While in law school, Joseph was the Editor-in-Chief of The Elder Law Journal. Joseph worked with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to hold an elderly creditor’s rights conference in May of 2007 at the Federal Reserve in Chicago. Mr. Barber also published an article entitled The Kids Aren’t All Right: The Failure of Child Abuse as a Model for Combating Elder Abuse in The Elder Law Journal. Joseph also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
