Preliminary injunctions: Louisiana Judge Enjoins Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner from Implementing Plan To Cut Insurance Benefits

Comity describes the principle that one state will respect another state’s actions. But occasionally policy differences provoke a reaction. Thus, a Louisiana Judge has just issued an injunction to prevent the Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner from enforcing a plan to rehabilitate an insurance company by increasing rates and cutting benefits.
